DISTANCE LEARNING UPDATE (4/23/20@ 12:12PM) - if a student misses a deadline for a test (doesn't complete a test) OR simply wants to improve their grade on a test, they can submist a video in place of the test covering the info./concepts on the test. The video must be informative and entertaining (geared for 12-13 year olds) and have a question/answer session at the end of the video.
Student's face doesn't have to be in the video, but at least their voice needs to be in most of the video (family members' voices are welcomed). Students are encouraged to get help from family members if it will enhance the video (provide credits at end of video). Email the video in 30 second interval pieces and the teacher will splice them together and post on the class youtube channel if it's excellent (110-125%). For example if the intended final video is supposed to be 5 minutes, then the student will send 10 emails, each with a 30 second clip. MUST BE LABELED in chronological order so it's easily spliced back together (video chunks sent via email might have to be 15 seconds but we will cross that bridge once it's sent). If the video is not excellent, the student will receive either a 70% or their 3rd quarter grade + 5% which will show up as their test score for the test they are trying to replace or make-up.
Video deadline is within 2 weeks from the scheduled date of the test. For example, if a student wanted to replace/make-up the April 22 test the student would have to submit their video pieces by May 6th. Extra credit will not be accepted beyond June 1st for this type of extra credit.

Points given will be based on the quality of the video. To insure the video is of good quality, it is recommended that the student shoots a rough draft video then shows it to the teacher after/before school. The teacher will likely make recommendations on how to improve the video and then the final draft can be submitted.
Video must be submitted using a flashdrive or thumb drive (will be returned back to the student)
Video must clearly cover a concept being taught in class
Video must have a question (pause), then the answer so students can use it to review the concepts covered in the video
Only copywrite free music can be used (youtube has a bank if music for this purpose)
